KARACHI, Sept 26: Following joint efforts by the Edhi Foundation and the Fire Brigade Department, bodies of the Yemani national, Shokey Ahmad and Mohammad Amin, an Edhi rescue worker, were recovered from the oil tanker, Alexy-II, on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Edhi Foundation, a fireman, Feroz, descended into the tank and recovered the body of the Shokey Ahmad.

Another fireman, Babar Ali, recovered the body of Mohammad Amin from the tank in the evening.

The statement said that Mohammad Amin was associated with the Edhi Foundation for the last four years and recently participated in the rescue operation in Badin.

Mohammad Amin was laid to rest in the Baldia Town graveyard, the body of the Yamani national was shifted to the Edhi cold storage, the statement added.

SUICIDE: A teenage boy committed suicide in his house in Nazimabad on early Friday morning.

Police said that Sardar Ahmed, 16, shot himself in the head in his house in Chota Maidan.

The police, quoting the victim’s father, said that family was sleeping when they heard the shot around 5am and found his body in a pool of blood after they entered his room, breaking its door.

Subsequently, the police was informed, which shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

The victim used his father’s licensed pistol to end his life, the police said, adding that family was clue less about reason behind his desperate move.

ACCIDENT: A teenager died in a road traffic accident in North Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said that Mohammad Sikandar, 17, was going on his cycle when a speeding minibus of route (W-21) knocked him down near Shipowners chowrangi.

The young boy was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police claimed to have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.
