Outspoken International Cricket Council (ICC) president Mustafa Kamal has once again taken aim at governing body, threatening to expose 'mischievous things' within cricket's front office.
Bangladesh's Kamal, who was severely reprimanded by the ICC for alleging that the Bangladesh-India World Cup quarter-final was "pre-arranged" in India's favour, made the latest remarks after being denied of the right to present the trophy to the winning team after Sunday's final.

"I was supposed to give the trophy today. It is my constitutional right. But very unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to do so. My rights were dishonoured. After I go back home, I will let the whole world know what's happening in ICC. I will let the whole world know about those guys who are doing these mischievous things," ESPNCricinfo reported Kamal as saying.
The World Cup trophy was presented to Australia by ICC's Indian chairman, N Srinivasan, despite amendments to rules in January 2015 mandating that it was the sole duty of the president to give the award at global competitions.
According to the Times of India, Srinivasan was 'extremely angry' after Kamal voiced his concerns about "umpiring bias" in the Bangladesh-India quarterfinal and expressed displeasure to ICC board members. match.
It was unclear, however, whether the decision to keep Kamal away from the presentation ceremony was linked to his earlier outburst.

While many an Indian would love to throw a shoe at Srinivasan, Mustafa Kamal is a petty Bangladeshi politician who does not have the maturity to represent an international body like the ICC. I hope Bangladeshis themselves are as embarrassed about him as Indians are about Srinivasan.

Fans too have had suspicions about some incidents and some matches. For example the catch dropped by hamilton Masakadza in the Ind vs Zim match. However it is unproductive to make emotional statements without concrete data. Being ICC president Kamal could use his powers to identify culprits and build a case using concrete data.

Cricket died when the Big 3 were formed. In an era where sport is expanding, cricket is in reverse gear, as less and less countries are encouraged to play cricket. Where is the plan to incorporate China, US, Brazil, France......into cricket? I agree that the countries which bring most money to ICC, should get a bigger cut, but dont underestimate the other boars. During the entire 2015 world cup, the game between Pakistan and India generated the most revenue where 1.5 billion people watched it, 3 times more then the Final.

@Ahmed Even if the umpiring decisions were bad, India had already crossed the score Bangladesh made. Assuming the Umpires had given the decisions in favour of Bangladesh and India hadn't made even one extra run, India would still have won by 3 runs. I wonder what they are crying about

I sympathize with Mr Kamal but his use of the word 'constitutional' is laughable. He is a member of Parliament elected without a single vote being cast in a phony election under a dictatorship. Words like 'fairness' and 'constitutional' do not exactly suit his lamentations of outrage.

Mr. Kamal's uncooked outbursts just show that he was not mature enough to fit the Ceremonial Role of ICC President. If he did have strong opinions, he should have communicated those to ICC Executive Committee instead of blurting those out to the media.
If he did not like that Ceremonial-Only role, he should not have accepted his nomination by Bangladesh Cricket Board. I hope in next ICC President, Mr. Najam Sethi, will keep that in mind before he steps in in a few months.

Any sport where 80% money comes from one nation will have some operational challenges. Unfortunately we do not have a single example of a team sport where one nation brings more than 80% of the revenue. Whether people like it or not India is going to play a huge role in this sport administration for a very long time.

Can never compare these batsmen scoring averages against batsmen those days -- these averages are inflated , helped by the rules and short boundaries

Srinivasan is a big embarrassment, corrupt to the core, how such people keep holding such high posts in an international sports organization? Hope we can cleanse sports from the infiltration of this political class. Cricket is popular is south asia only and if any of these 3 countries politicians dominate then the situation will be same. i dont believe that other south asian neighbors are less corrupt.
