Altaf discusses Yemen issue with JI, JUI-F chiefs

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement supremo Altaf Hussain phoned Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday to discuss the ongoing Yemen crisis.

Earlier, Mr Hussain urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to convene a conference of political and religious parties in the country before taking a position on the conflict between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

According to an MQM press release, Mr Hussain and the JI chief were of the view that the UN and Muslim countries should try to resolve the Saudi-Yemeni conflict through dialogue.

Mr Haq said Pakistan and Turkey should play the role of a mediator in the resolution of the conflict instead of becoming a part to it. Maulana Fazl seconded Mr Hussain’s demand for an all-party conference.

Mr Hussain assured the JUI-F chief that the MQM would support whatever decision he took on the issue.

It’s always better to resolve conflicts through dialogue instead of victimization and killings - a message to his own party can foster peace in Karachi – still not too late for MQM to adopt this policy of co-existence and dialogue.

Altaf Hussain 30 Jan 2015, 30 Jun 2013, 4 Sep 2014 resignations were tendered but withdrawn due to party pressure. Seems decision of the MQM chief is final this time. We wish him best for his future endeavours. MQM has to realign its policies of former chef

Never never meddle into other's affairs that can be resolved bilaterally. At best be an impartial facilitators. If you do you make Iran your hostile neighbor and encourage sectarian divide within your own country that is already facing indistinguishable fire. Soudi Arabia is a redundant monarchy that is bound to collapse in the new age of human dignity and freedom.

I thought he tender his resignation. May i know under what capacity he discussed the issues..May be he discussed the issues before resignation.. But the question why he would discuss the situation if he is going to be no longer in office...This country is nothing but a political comedy show... Anyway you all can discuss what ever but remember NS is a one man show...

At existing time Pakistan has several experienced and capable leaders. They may not make incorrect decisions for self satisfaction, rather think for whole nation regardless, mother tongue, sect and origins. Great leaders make great decisions. My dear leaders, are you great?

Bhai is not MQM chief any more. In what capacity he is conducting this meeting ? Saudi starting this war and should be pointed out by United Nation as as aggressor. Days of King ship are gone. If People of Yemen does not want appointed president. Their wish should reconsidered.

All parties conference is nothing but like a great game. When the parliament is existing. The issues are supposed to be discussed and debated there why APC, which has no place in the constitution of Pakistan. APC will not take all the parties in confidence rather determine on vested interests by crushing legitimate views of the other parties. Therefore, such issues must be openely debated in the parliament for any conclusion.
