ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed the recent developments on regional and international fronts.
According to a report issued by the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA), during the telephone conversation on Saturday, Nawaz expressed full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the ‘Determination Storm’ operation, asserting that "all potentials of the Pakistani Army are offered to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia".

King Salman thanked the prime minister for his feelings and stressed on the depth of relations between the two countries, the report said.
According to diplomatic sources, Saudi Arabia has also assured its cooperation for the safe evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Yemen.
Nawaz Sharif on Friday had ordered the Pakistani mission in Yemen to take steps for the immediate evacuation of stranded Pakistani families in the troubled country.
Earlier, the prime minister had asserted that any threat to Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity would evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
However, Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said in the National Assembly that Pakistan has only pledged to safeguard the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He stressed on Pakistan's role as 'facilitator' to end the conflicts in the Muslim world.
"Instead of aggravating the situation by participating in it, Pakistan should do what it can to prevent it ─ for the alliance and unity of the Muslim world," the defence minister had said. "Pakistan is ready to adopt whatever role is needed in order to facilitate the termination of conflicts in the Islamic world."
Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies launched military operations including air strikes in Yemen on Thursday to counter Iran-backed forces besieging the southern city of Aden, where the US-supported Yemeni president had taken refuge.

Gulf broadcaster al-Arabiya TV reported that the kingdom was contributing as many as 150,000 troops and 100 warplanes to the operations and that allies Egypt, Jordan, Sudan and Pakistan were ready to take part in a ground offensive in Yemen.

Good and bold decision. That should be the spirit.
Why are we getting into this mess, it's not our war, have our leaders not learned any thing from Afghanistan? And what kind of friend is Saudi Arabia if he is forcing us to take sides and kill our Muslim brothers in Yemen
Why does the Saudi press keep running stories like this when it's been categorically said that Pakistan won't participate until this matter goes before parliament? Are they trying to pressurise us to join their war?
What authority under the Constitution does the PM have to pledge troops to a foreign country without parliamentary approval?
Has he asked the army before giving out this statement??????
This is not a news, every body knows this.
This is not a sectarian war between Shia and Sunnis as portrayed by Saudis. It is a political war for dominance and influence. If Pakistan joins it will commit a grave mistake. Nawaz Sharif must not take a decision without first taking the parliament into confidence.
It will be suicidal step for Pakistan, stop it in any way possible.
NO please. Stay away from trouble, we have had enough already to mingle in other's affaires
What does mean by full support..... ? Will our army is going to take part in recent operation against yamani rebels?
Not a good idea Mr Prime Minister but since you have promised we are with you.
We should never let the trust of KSA go down , we should uphold their trust at any costs.
When will we stop getting exploited by Saudis? When were Saudi's ever did something that was in Pakistan's interest?
Bad decision...Nobody is concerned about peace...
How come all these so called Arab countries didn't go against ISIS, that's anybody's guess.
Instead of being a mediator, now we will help one brother to kill another. WHAT A SHAME !!
My heart goes out seeing KSA pleading with Pakistan , a hyper power for support at this critical juncture , a do or die situation for them and Pakistan being their best friend and ally should not let them down. They will do the same when we need help against India in international forums.
You don't have guts to fights against ISIS and you are talking about that you will fight against IRAN .. Don't mess your country into this war .
Going against every Pakistanis wishes. This is a huge decision. Have Saudi Arab pay off our debt in return.
How does Pak intend to handle Iran, now? Geographically Iran is closer than Saudi !!!
This is so bad for Pakistan what kind of a leader is he? why is it so hard for him to realize what kind of trouble this is going to get us in, in the long run?
Everyone uses Pakistan as a doormat when it comes to wars
Perfect! I said it many times that for Pakistan it is VITAL to keep our alliance with Saudi Arabia at top.
This is a sectarian war. We have our own problems. I wonder what Raheel Shariff stance is on this. I realize on the books COAS is under the PM but practically that does not happen in Pakistan.
Next time Pakistan faces foreign aggression, I hope most of you will also have the guts to come forward and oppose any foreign aid - financial, military or logistical.
Shameful display of ignorance and ungratefulness!
Sad
Oh Come 'on! What's wrong with our Government? Never think straight, always look for trouble.
Our army is for us not the whole world. really they have not learned anything from past mistakes.
This is a very good decision by Pakistan. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
A timely step by Nawaz Government to protect strategic and national interests of Pakistan.
Today's decision will make Pakistan into cats and dogs. This will make more insecured to the nation, because this cause will destroy the pakistan soon....
stay away from that mess. why risk offending Iran who is our neighbor and soon to be a nuclear and economical power. lets them handle their own issues and focus on our own domestic issues.
Disaster is looming after this horrible decision.
Please can you stop this we will be in a big mess if we enter this war... It's just a beginning it will bring another wave of trouble for Pakistan.
lets mediate for PEACE. We the people of Pakistan will not tolerate our PM decision to go to war but will support mediation toward peace only. Pakistan should play a big brother role and help the umma.
@lafanga any cost ? Your name suggest you being satirical ;) So i agree as well
The move doesn't surprise me though it is disheartening. Simple fact of the matter is that Saudis are cashing there cheques. The khairat the Saudis gave Pakistan leaves Pakistan with no choice.
Ok. So what's really going on? Defence minister, PM, Foreign Office, Saudi media everyone has its own version. Dig out the facts for us, Dawn. Please.
@lafanga Our government is supporting sinking Monarchs of Saudi Arabia against the wishes of Saudi people and Yemeni people which is very bad
It does not make sense for Pakistan Army to take part in a land war in Yemen.
so can Pakistan afford a war with Iran...with Talibans in the NW..with India in the east and Iran in the West...you guys will be having not so friendly neighrbourhood
shame on PM nawaz..how can they think about it..we have nothing to do with Saudis,Pakistan should never involve in this mess.
Dont forget that Iran is your neighbour. How many neighbors you are going to make enemies?
If we refuse to help, Saudis will ask US for help. They will be more than willing to help as they will be able to claim a huge price for their services. So good decision.
Pakistan offered 15 fighter bombers to this operation.
@Fareed Let the Saudi ask US help.
"come NAWAZ come"
tread carefully. one wrong move and new wave of sectarian violence will erupt in pakistan
@Factual If we dont help KSA they will not help us and our military can no longer survive without generous funds from KSA , as if we have no military only TTP will rule it.
Why you people are not sure what you have to do ?
@Fareed We are not Mercenaries you fool
Pakistan has already more than it can eat on its plate. Try to solve your internal problems first, your people are dying with hunger, poverty and decease.
Pakistan will never learn!!
Very bad move... But when you take their money and oil, pmnl was already going to help, no choice.
Should only remain a lip-service.
As expected , no surprise here.
@Factual You forgot Electricity Minister!
This sounds just like Pakistan support to USA in fight against Taliban and Alquaida, play both sides!!
@Arun Sasi Why do you think they were allowed and encouraged to make nuclear weapons?
No need to interfere and kill our brothers (shia or sunni). This is wrong. Completely Wrong. Just Wrong.
KSA and Pakistan are two faces of same coin , like conjoined twins one cannot live without another , we have no other country that is closest to us than KSA and China.
Don,t involve us another war. Seems like we will keep fighting in our whole life.
Pakistan could not be more stupid to jump into the fire raging in others house when it's own house is on fire. Your establishment is hopelessly helping to widen the secretarin divide between Shias and Sunnies. You are inviting a civil war within your own country.
Nawaz lost his mind. Pakistan should not get itself into middleeastern conflict. Period.
@shabbir h lakhani Well said.
Why this news comes as no surprise at all , and this should have been taken lot earlier why did they waste so much time.
@M.Saeed no one is going to open air space for Pakiatani jets to fly, Land route, Water route to reach there. All these routes pass through countries who are hostile to Pakistan.
@ZAK That is a mark of true strategist , gain from both and losses to them.
Lack of Decision makers in our country. :(
Strange that nobody objects to Iran's intervention in Yemen after having played havoc in Iraq and Syria.
May ALLAH bring peace, harmony and unity among Muslim Ummah.
One can always trust Pakistan to antagonize immediate neighbors in pursuit of pleasing far away friend........
This is absolutely the wrong decision and against the national interests'. We should be the peace makers between Muslim nations rather than siding with one against other!
No need to take sides. Pakistan should desist from sending its troops. SA, a friend. True. But support for SA should not turn our neighbour IRAN against us. There should be no repetition of non sense.
Absolutely wring decision to support Saudi Arabia. Why are we fighting Saudi Arabia's war. We need to pull all our people out and stay out out of this conflict. We should remain neutral.
Iran has never fanned sectarian situation in Pak. Iran did not disclose Pak in nuclear case. Iran security forces has not recently attached on Pakistan. Iran is very reliable neighbor.
Out of the frying pan into the fire but Nawaz Sharif would carry on regardless.
@shabbir h lakhani Indians can stop it by their usual mavericks at the border.
Please dont jump into this mess. Save Pakistan from owning another war.
This is start of beginning of end of Saud's Arabia. Pakistan, shouldnt step in. This is proxy war.
Why these conflicting signals ?
Terrible decision. Bad times ahead. Now all our neighbors will be hostile. On the east, India. On the west both Afghanistan and now Iran. Even a GCC member like Oman has quietly remained excluded. Why Pakistan has to take sides?
Can somebody explain me how security and territorial integrity of KSA is being threatened?
madness, madness and just madness!!
Nawaz Sharif looks like a bollywood hero in this photo, i likes him.
@manaj Yes he looks like a million bucks , my heart is on him, evergreen hero.
A golden chance for Pakistan! Just send twenty thousand troops and get twenty billion dollars in return. We have huge population with meagre resources to feed and educate it. What the Americans are doing in the world. They just sow a penny and reap thousands dollars. That is real politico. Egypt has recently clinched fourteen billion dollars from Saudis. Let the cowards debate pros and cons. It is right time to hit the nail.
I think our Army Chief should have say in this matter and we should not make another enemy for the poor citizens who use to work in the gulf countries including Yemen. What Imran is saying is absolutely right.
Wow! Where are our so called democratic institutions ? Was it discussed, debated and agreed in our parliament ? Mush was accused to respond to US call for joining the alliance without any consultations and now our dear honourable PM joined this coalition which will have drastic impact on our own security.....
Pakistan is already there. That's how it works. Khwaja Asif said one thing, PM is saying another but I understand. This thing was cooking for a long time. SA may be a friendly country but Iran is next door. For the sake of poor Jawans, I hope that this doesn't blow up in the face of Pakistan.
Those whom God wants to destroy they make first mad.
@liaqat chahil Not true, US are not very good business men , Chinese are, US is in more debt than any other country in the world.
all pak army support in order to secure saudi border. however pak should not get into this war. looking at history we are still suffering from after effects of earlier wars which we were made to fight.......
Seriously a confused state
WE HAVE LEARNT FROM HISTORY........THAT WE HAVE LEARNT NOTHING FROM HISTOR..
Pakistan should be neutral in this issue. Taking any side would lead to disastrous effect for down trodden peace and security situation in pakistan. A time is near when our streets will see blood of muslim shed by their 'brother's.
For the love of god please play the part of peace negotiator if you must.
He is the dude , totally in control of Pakistan, go to man for all foreign nations requiring assistance.
Pakistan is too weak to face Iran
Rather mediating the conflict within our Muslim brothers, we are in support of polarization inflicted by the western powers.
To help another muslm country is a commendable act. We need to see more leadership like this from prime minister Nawaz sharif and also from other muslim leaders.
Is Chinese President coming or is he here? May he could provide some guidance or mediation.
Don’t put this decision on Nawaz; He is just a front man. All such decisions are made by PAK ARMY. So they can blame the government on such issue. When should we sacrifice our national for other security?
Pakistan should extend military support to Saudi Arabia.
Pak army can hardly manage its own on internal challenges ... Too stretched ...
don't invite trouble to south east plz
Saudis can buy piles of ammunition but cannot use them? Saudi Arabia is the largest buyer of the arms, I believe. They say, they sent around one hundred fifty thousand troops to the Yemeni-Saudi borders but still reluctant to fight off the Yemeni rebels? House of Saudi want Pak army to fight for them or the lives of Pakistanis cheaper than Saudis?
@ALIF KB Hizbullah and Hamas have shown the door to the better trained and committed Israelis, and Yemeni rebels drawn their support from the same Hizbullah and Co. It will not be easy for these lazy Saudis now.
Imagine God forbid Pakistan is under attack by India. Whom Pakistan would look at for help? logically Saudi Arabia, China and Turkey..so all those who are criticizing and opposing govermment for the sake of opposition on yemen issue must know that Pakistan can not or must not remain oblivious to the developments taking place in the region because it is a question for our survival as well. Pakistan simultaneously should approach Tehran for peace and stability in Yemen.
@lafanga It is not the trust matter mate! They are the largest buyer of arms, and have already sent an army of one hundred fifty thousand to the borders. They should fight it themselves. if they don't, it means that Saudis can buy piles of arms but cannot or do not know how to use them. Or, we blood is cheaper than the Saudis'!!!
Pakistan must support by offering fighter jets and boots on the ground to KSA.
This is really a goo decision. Saudis have helped us all along. All such helps are not covered under media but top guys know. This is a good gesture on pak's part to support saud's in every way possible.
Pakistan is being pulled again into a war that is in no political & geographical terms its own. Beware, the effects of fighting a sectarian war of Middle East might be greater than what we face today in result of war on terror. But Nawaz Sharif paying back the royal treatment he received in his years of exile.
Not a good decision. Bring the matter before parliament and take nation into confidence . And if we agree, let Saudis pay our 65 billion $$ debt and prove to be real brother. Make pakistan more strong .. And we will help to save guard inch by inch ... Let's play fair. 1.5 billion is no good .
@noman
U guys forgot. They sheltered ur current PM when he was in deep waters. Now its time to return that favor.
@Zee also tell us why it will be a grave mistake? esp. when pakistan already maintains some troops there, and regularly trains saudi forces. but do say why it will be a mistake, and that too a grave kind
This war will surely trigger a dangerous sectarian strife in the country. The COAS should categorically refuse any troop deployment orders!!
@srini if iran is meddling in our country and creating problems for our allies, then well as many as our enemies are in numbers
how many will india take on?
Pak should support saudia in crushing houthi terrorists backed by iran.non state terrorists should be crushed
Dear Mr. Nawaz please refrain urself from ordering Pak Army to go and get involved in yet another war which is surely not ours. Kindly use some brains and learn from the past.
Basically its time to pay back for the dollars given to the country as declared by Mr Dar "A GIFT" from the kingdom.
Yes Pakistan should extend military support to Saudia Arab,Saudia arab is the best friend of Pakistan.Iran has always backsatbbed Pakistan and muslim nations, it is about time that Iran is taught a good lesson. We must support Saudi initiative wholeheartedly.
Pakistani soldiers life is not cheap. Saudis & Iran should fight their proxy themselves. I would suggest Nawaz,Shahbaz & even Raheel Sharuf to send there love ones to fight for saudi monarch. Isn't APS tragedy thought us nothing.
This is the biggest mistake of Nawaz Sharif to involve Pakistan in this conflict. Just because he and his family has personal relationship with Saudi king, he is dragging the entire Pakistan into this mess which we have nothing to do.
Sharif family have huge investments in Saudi Arabi and in the past have gained excessive favours from Saudis. Nawaz Sharif is under extreme pressure in this situation, so it is importan that our parlimentarians and Army handle this situation tactfully and decide what is in the best interest of our Umma and Country. It's interesting to see how quick both Saudia and Iran were to warn each other of consequences, and how quickly many Arab countries joined Saudia. I wonder if our muslim countries have enough courage to unite against Israili's oppression in Pelestine?
This is the only issue on which I wholeheartedly I support Nawaz, its a bold step and Pakistan should act according to its strength and power in middle east, afghanistan and south and central Asia and must acquire air craft carrier to project and protect its interests in Indian ocean,we as nation must start thinking global
PM Nawaz has no support or authorization to commit our armed forces at the disposal of the Saudi kingdom. Prior to making any statements, he must present the case in the parliament and seek approval. It will be foolish for the parliament to approve any involvement in the Saudi sponsored attack on Yemen
A simple quedtion to help Answering this problema. Will KSA send her troops to Pakistan if Pakistan is under attack?
Nawaz Shariff should advise Saudi King to march to liberate Palestine, with all his might and power. Islamic world would love him.
@Okay -Pakistan doe snot need to face Iran as they are our brotherly neighbours and we love them all.
@Pakistani Citizen - you just wasted your words. basically everyone else want similar action but you said it wit ha bit of objection on everyone else, not sure why?
Shame on pml(n) for taking sides without consulting
If this statement is true, am assuming that the Army Chief's permission/approval has been taken.
Standing beside worst dictatorship, a family of Al Saud , what is Nawaz Sharif trying to prove ? In Yemen it is a civil war, totally an Arab affair, what a non Arab country like Pakistan has any business to intervene ?
This government's priority are vague and not well directed this government cannot even safeguard the sovereignty of Pakistan so why create new challenges for people of Pakistan.
Pak got free or subsidised oil from Saudi it's payback time
Time has come for NS to pay back to American Allied dynastic regime for their 10 years exile hospitality .
Congratulations. Our government and military have finally walked off the deep end. A country with tens of thousands of dead to terrorism and insurgency will now go defend another country and its interests so that the second country can further its regional interests and divide the whole Middle East.
First government said we won't be involved in the conflict and now full support of our Army. Hypocrisy on the part of government. I think its an extremely dangerous to get involved in the sectarian mess.
I fail to understand why are we taking sides is not afghan war not enough for us ? Have we not learned the lessons what benefit or whom are we helping in this was ?
We shall not get into this war which is not ours. In past we destroyed our country through Afghanistan war which was again funded by Saudis and America. What we got out of it? Only destruction. This is as we all know is a war between Saudis and Iran and we shall not become part of it. This will like Afghan war will only bring destruction to Pakistan. We must learn from the past and secure our future.
@Gul Pasha approach tehran is it. Of all the countrys you named i doubt Saudi Arabia will help pakistan openly against india. Turkey -- yes. China underhand. But SA is a ?
@M.Malik what aggression. When did Yemen a poor country attack Saudi. Where were Saudi planes when Gaza was bombed non stop. It is a war for power.
News is that some of the force is going to be deployed around Mecca region very soon. Our government and the establishment is already following on its precedence of lying to its people...
@Gul Pasha, First of all India knows we have more nukes than them and if God forbids, Pakistan is attacked by India we can fight alone with India like we did all the past wars except the E.Pakistan due to geographic conditions which we don't have now. Let them try.
Now there should be no more load shedding.
What Nawaz Sharif has done is to remind everyone that he not only greatly respect the oldest profession in the world but he also practices it repeatedly.
Maybe the 1.5billion dollar aid/loan to Pakistan from Saudia was the part of deal to use its army.
Very bad idea to get into SA war. This is the war for power and land grabbing. Saudi Arabia will get Pakistan in to a conflict which can and will put the already troubled nation into a mess.
When the Saudis say jump the US jumps. Why wouldn't Pakistan, a poor small country jump?
@iqbal khan Who gave him the right to promise on his own. Just because he happens to be a PM doesn't give him the blanket rights to take unilateral decisions on matters affecting the whole nation.
@Okay. Pakistan is very strong compared to Iran but it will be bad decision to be part of senseless war between two main sects of Islam. It shall have serious impact on internal peace and security of Pakistan.
@adnan Will Saudi army ever come and fight for you?
@ALIF KB Strategic and national interest my foot. It is nothing more than a self interest and a pay back.
Nawaz should first get rid of the rebels in his own country but he has no options. Here he says NO and there his all assets are sacked.
How many times arab armies have come to Pakistan in its hour of need-----stay away.
For all those supporting this decision to commit troops trained with our money to go attack a sovereign Muslim country. In the future, do not wail about the people of Palestine and their struggle, being run over by a foreign power. As that would be hypocritical.
Isn't it great? Now that Nawaz Sharif has so speedily solved all of Pakistan's issues he can get onto helping other countries!!
Pakistan should not join this civil war. It will be an act of sheer stupidity.
And the PPP, PML-N, as well as our media and lawyers all gave former brave President Musharraf a bad rap about "jumping into wars" which we should never should have involved ourselves in.
Despite COAS stating otherwise, it seems like the Sharifs are simply protecting their own business empire in KSA , at the expense of our national security.
Have they ever offered to land boots to clear TTP menace from our western borders. We should charge them $35 billion so we can pay off all of our debts.
Donated money is the life blood of Pakistan's economy especially when it comes from Saudi Arabia without which poor and illiterate folks of Pakistan will not survive. This is the main reason Pakistan will support KSA with men whenever and wherever the later country needs it.
we have observe that rulers administrators or the government takes decision very quickly without thinking twice, and as a result on all sector fails.people are sufering ,not rulers ,by all way.past decisions, like hiding criminals internastionally declare, supporting them for harming and bleeding neighbouring countries, not only but giving silent consent for their activity, etc etc .indirectly very very big loss to country.
Why
We should support and stand a side with KSA. The only country who blindly trust Pakistan and we should stand a side. Those are rebels in Yemen not Iran. Iran already we lost any how. We are support own country KSA and PAK are same.
@junaid why do think the general is quit? Do you think navaz would do this whitout the armys support? He is saying Pak will protect sauidis, needs the army to do that
Relax, Pakistan will not take hasty decisions.
Why are we helping the Arab states when they are the ones doing proxy war with Iran in our country. Have we not had enough of the afghan war????
@Robin Akbar I have heard that Pak has developed bombs that don't hurt innocent civilian people. Pak has used these bombs in FATA and only killed terrorists with zeros civilian casualties! These bombs are perfect for Yemen!
If india attacks pakistan, will saudi come to help pakistan? NO
@Gul Pasha if India were to attack Pakistan as you suggest, let me assure you that india will be least bothered by Saudi Arabia and China
What a wrong decision, this man will get us into worse trouble. Why? Why? Why?
so pakistan has showed that in the guise of thier so called solidarity with muslim ummah it is covertly supporting one sect against the other in its armed support against the rebels of yemen .yemen crisis is an internal crisis of the country and what rights pak have to interfere in this?when pak has some sort of internal crisis and if yemen or iran inetrvenes or provides armed support to one sect will it be digestible to pak?pak will be paying a heavy price to this mistake bcoz today or tomorow iran is going to be nuke power and it shares a huge border with pak.
Nawaz sharif go for it we r with u! saudies r our time tested friends!
Save Pakistan first before helping undemocratic kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
@Syed Ganga Din Pakistan is confused state indeed PM telling one thing, defence minister is telling another thing. This is the reason people also get confused and we get all cooked up conspiracy theory s by Pakistanis. It seems Pakistan is going to get involved in this middle-east mess in Yemen.
And what has KSA ever done for us except contribute to the current mess in this country? Why should our army be engaged in their war? Dont we have enough problems of our own?
Why go public with this when Pakistanis are still stranded in Yemen and risking their security?
Pakistan should send troops ONLY to protect Hijaz or if Daish/ISIS and Israel attacks Saudi Arabia. The yemini shia militia is not even a real army. Arabs have blown this whole thing out of proportion.
good decision by prime minister
Get out of this & all other mess. Buil your Country & people. Let them fight their own wars.
@Hatim Non, but even If the Parliament approves it will not be a wise decision to get involved in this war. Whatever the Defence Minister said is the best thing to do for Pakistan in this situation.
Why oh why don't we learn that nothing good comes out of meddling in a war, which has nothing to do with us!!
Get our debt write off as we will loose billions in tourism, economy will suffer
All Pakistani are always happy to send Army to Saudi Arab, but masses have desire that Pakistan government should sign numerous accords with brother countries for the prosperity of masses. Enemy country of Pakistan has more manpower in M.E + has numerous business accords. Enemy is using his income against Pakistan. Our leaders may please spend some time for the interest of nation as well, apart from the prosperity of own kids. Democracy means power for the prosperity of masses.
@Warrior Bin Qasim Dont go even if they pay our debt in return. dont become a partner in dividing the ummah. both saudi arabia and iran are selfish. Pakistan is the only country which can lead the muslim ummah in coming decades Inshallah. Bcz Turkey hates saudi arabia and iran, Iran hate saudi arabia and turkey, Saudi arabia hates iran and turkey. Pakistan is the only country which is the friend of all muslim countries and will Inshall lead them.
@zafar Do you care to explain as how Houthis are non-state actors?
@ALIF KB ....Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision making, it is a burden, not a benefit.
@Cynical ...Where there is no vision, there is no hope.
@Faruq NS controls every thing.. every single institute in Pakistan...He is just like a monarch..Public opinion is the thermometer a monarch should constantly consult.
@Hatim When the legislative and executive powers are united in the same person, or in the same body of magistrates, there can be no liberty; because apprehensions may arise, lest the same monarch or senate should enact tyrannical laws, to execute them in a tyrannical manner.
@iqbal khan... no wonder why we are what we are today...Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time.
@lafanga ...I believe in trusting men, not only once but twice - in giving a failure another chance.
@noman when we gain our self respect and not self pity
I didn't know that Yemen beloged to Arabia too and it did not exist as a nation.
OMG!!! Another rental war, sorry my statement my be hurting but if you look at Pakistan's present condition I think you will blame decision of fighting war against Russia for US and Again in AFG for US but actually Pakistan had nothing to do with these wars but these rental war has created so many issues within Pakistan. Duty of every government is to take care of its citizens first and all other things later. Pakistan government should try and give basics to its people first and later on think about religious brother and it should everything to give better life for Pakistanis no matter if religious brother in some other countries are happy or not. Country comes ahead of religion!!!!
Fully Support this decision it might not be the best time but still there wasnt a better option
No to Saudi request (order). Pakistani nation is not a slave of the house of Saud. It is very much visible that Saudia is exploiting the sentiments of Muslims by creating an impression that the attack is on the Holy cities, which, is not the case.
Nawaz said the right thing. Saudi territorial integrity is off limits for any one. The Holy Kaba is there. As for involving in Iran/ Saudi proxy war, that we should negotiate to stop and send our foreighn minister, oh, that would be Nawaz himself. Better he stay home!
@Indian Mumbai you mean like Modi has to ask the Indian army Chief, wow!
Pakistan take a good decision.making . favourite. Of saudia
The history: Iran and Iraq have fought war for 10 years. During that era, they both were in the block of then supper powers USSR & USA. After 9/11, the leaders of USA and their ally were saying that the time has come that there should be democracy in Arab world. Who has suffered, the "Aam Aadmi" and who gained then and now, the opportunist. If there is no war in this world, how will ammunition producing factories will run their business. Remember, "Arms for Peace".
@Sajid Very good deccision.Let Islamic army fight against Islamic army. But not the ISIS.
@Mohammad Salim Sure kill more Muslims. What a great idea?
@SK This is the draw back of majority elected parliament.
@Muhammad A great question.
KSA entered a defence pact with India in 2014, let that be honoured. Where were these 100 fighter planes when Gaza was being bombed?
@guddu Are you talking about Pakistan or KSA?
@Arun Sasi Sadly we have never been able to have a friendly neighbourhood, always looking for friends in the distance...
with grate mistake, but he committed on personnel survival.
No Blood for Oil, No Blood for Oil.
Please make yourself NATO, UNO like nations, then propose Muslim World peace keeping force.
only statements???????? No action this time also.. Pathetic Government
Say no to PROXIES in Pakistan. We should be honest to Pakistan not proxies like IRAN/KSA. Search the success story of Singapore. Nawaz Sharif may have allegiance to KSA because they support him in exile. NS cannot make decisions in personal relations. We love Pakistan.,,
Before this Pakistan has sent troops to Bahrain. They may create sectarian chaos in the country.
I hate Nawaz but here Army and Nawaz has done the right thing any war entering Saudi borders will make sure that whole Muslim world is on fire, so to avoid this kind of situation best thing is to attack the enemy and finish it outside KSA other wise we are looking at massive bloodshed in coming days.
Are we capable enough to enter into this mess? look at our economy, can we efford such an adventure?
we should support Saudia, they have supported Pakistan in every form unlike Iran which always support India, its not a war between Saudia and Iran or Saudia or Yemen, its a war between Saudia and Yemeni group which have overthrow the legitimate government of Yemen, that government has asked for help from Saudia, its better that our 20% population understands that scenario which always support Iran though Iranis does not treat them equally
Saudi Arabia has always helped Pakistan with oil and cash. I think what Pakistan should do is to deploy its forces on southern Saudi border - to prove Pakistan cares about Saudi sovereignty, but not use Pakistani forces for offensive in Yemen. A bit diplomacy required by Pakistan.
@Cynical Agree.. same applies to USA's war on Taliban and so -called war on terror
are we in a position to help KSA...? first we should put our own land in order and then think of helping others. we are already suffering from terrorism and cannot afford any new blow ...
What is the difference between Israel invasion of Palestine and Saudi Arabia's invasion of Yemen? We condemn the former but praise the latter. If Israel had sheltered Nawaz Shareef, would we have sided with Israel against the Palestinians? Probably so ! It is pay back time, Mr. NS. Especially when the pay back has to be done by the nation and not personally by NS.
What has Pakistan got to do with this war except renting out it's soldiers lives to Saudi Arabia. The war in Yemen has no Pakistani national interest at risk.
Saudi Arabia has been buying tons of arms and ammunition from the West. The whole Arab League is with them. How much more force they need to subdue a small, weak and poor country like Yemen? What is Saudi Arabia doing in Yemen is called interfering in the internal affairs of a neighboring country. In Bahrain they did the same thing. In Yemen there was a revolution and president Hadi has lost legitimacy. Al Qaida, ISIS and radicals were killing Houthis even in their mosques. The only good solution now is to stop all fighting and foreign intervention and let there be a free and fair election in Yemen.
