SC moved for action against Altaf, Ibad

LAHORE: The Supreme Court has been asked to bring MQM chief Altaf Husain back to Pakistan through Interpol and remove Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad in the light of statements by Saulat Mirza, a death row prisoner and a former worker of the party.

Filed by Barrister Zafarullah Khan of the Watan Party, the petition further asks the court to place Ibad on the exit control list and order an action against parliamentarians of the MQM for their involvement in criminal activities as stated by Mirza.

Barrister Khan says the allegations leveled by Mirza against Mr Husain and Mr Ibad were very serious and required to be investigated. He asks the court to bring the MQM chief back through Interpol and remove Ibad as governor for fair investigation.

The plan is to get Altaf out of Brition so he can escape to Canada via Pak. He is unsecure in England because of money laundering case. There is no such thing to put him through a murder trial in Pak. The judicial system still has many flaws and holes to trial a foreign national in Pak courts.

is it politically motivated. we know damn well our Sc is not and indigenous entity...Who is pulling the strings???...Wonder how /why Zardari remained as the president while the corruption cases were pending.. I guess double standards.. There is no particular philosophy, ethics, values, standards or codes how to conduct political life.Only one thing is supreme might is right. however you use it.Crime is crime whosoever commits it

This is good move but government should delay hanging of Saulath Mirza, because court might need him for the proof, while bringing his leader into the court. Moreover government should bring the criminal from Dubai, who gave statement against politicians and trail him in the court of law, so everything should comes in front of the public, who all are involved for the killing/destruction in Karachi, otherwise public would feel that the government is biased and decriminalizing.

We don't see anything untill we understand it. All these operations and moves are against one group under the garb of controlling crime. Supreme Court has observed that ALL parties are involved in illegal activities. Operations in Karachi only is a statement that rest of the country is a land of milk and honey. No, the fact is that it is against Urdu speaking MQM, period.
