Another human Trafficker arrested

LAHORE, Sept 25: Another human trafficker was arrested from Mandi Bahauddin, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Thursday.

Official sources told Dawn that on a tip-off, a Lahore FIA’s special team went to Mandi Bahauddin and arrested travel agent Muhammad Zaman.

They said the accused had sent a number of people to the US on fake travel documents. He was wanted by Rawalpindi FIA in four cases while the Lahore office had also received a number of complaints against him.

Meanwhile, the FIA established a new passport circle police station in Gujranwala division to check the activities of human traffickers smugglers in the adjoining areas.

An assistant director passport cell (Lahore) will be the in charge of the new police station which would start functioning from Oct 1.

Earlier, the FIA’s Lahore passport circle used to deal with the cases related to human trafficking in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Malakwal and Narowal.

The FIA had arrested a number of agents involved in human trafficking in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Phalia and Malakwal during the last few months.
