Drone kills TTP leader

PESHAWAR: The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) said on Thursday one of its important leaders was killed along with two associates in a drone strike in Kurram Agency on Wednesday.

A TTP spokesman said in a statement that the drone strike was carried out in Shabak area adjacent to the Afghan border in lower subdivision of Kurram Agency.

He identified the killed leader as Khawrey Mehsud. He said Khawrey, who belonged to Sararogha area in South Waziristan, was a close aide to former TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud and had also worked with Baitullah Mehsud.
