KARACHI, Sept 24: Around 2,500 houses in Malir ‘C’ Area have been getting sewage mixed water for the last 15 days.

Residents of the affected locality complained that they were being supplied stinking black coloured water for the last 15 days. The residents said that the colour of the water being supplied to them indicated that sewage water might be seeping into water supply line.

Deploring that the officials concerned of water and sanitation department have not taken measures to rectify the fault, they feared that some serious abdomen diseases could break out in their locality in an epidemic form.

Complaints of contaminated water have also been received from the residents of block-2, PECHS.

Meanwhile, the issue of contaminated water continued to persist in Block-20 of Federal B’ Area’s for the last 47 consecutive days.
