Narrow wins for Navy and ABL

KARACHI, Sept 23: Pakistan Navy and Allied Bank Limited (ABL) earned full points when they scored narrow victories over Pakistan Police 2-1 and KESC 1-0 in the President PFF Cup football tournament on Tuesday at Quetta, according to a fax message received from the organizers.

Skipper Zahir Ahmad fired home the match winner against KESC in the 77th minute of the match after receiving peach of a pass from Basharat Ali.

Navy should have won by a much bigger margin but for poor shooting by Zahir, Basharat and Mohammad Ramzan who squandered several scoring chances.

Altaf Hussain put ABL ahead in the 15th minute but it was neturalized by Mohammad Hassan who made no mistake in the 28th minute.

Mohammad Ijaz headed home in the 57th minute after a cross from substitute Amjad Zakariya which in the end proved decisive.
