KARACHI: Notice issued

Published September 24, 2003

KARACHI, Sept 23: A Sindh High Court election tribunal on Tuesday issued notice in an application moved by Chief Minister Ali Mahar for determining the cost to be paid by his defeated PPP rival in the October 2002 polls, who challenged his election from PS-6 (Ghotki-I).

The PPP’s Abdul Latif Shah had challenged Mr Mahar’s election on account of his being a ‘non-graduate’. His plea was dismissed as ‘not maintainable’ by the election tribunal when the CM produced a bachelor’s degree awarded to him by AIOU.
