Armed forces pledge to continue fight against terror

ISLAMABAD: The armed forces on Wednesday renewed their pledge to continue the fight against terrorism in accordance with the role assigned to them in the National Action Plan on Counter-Terrorism.

“The participants reaffirmed their resolve to fight the menace of terrorism as per the National Action Plan with full support of the people of Pakistan,” ISPR said in a statement on the meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC).

The JCSC meeting is normally held on a quarterly basis for discussions on inter-services matters.

The meeting, presided over by Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Gen Rashad Mahmood, was attended by Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Defence Secretary retired Lt Gen Alam Khattak and senior officers.
