Matin hits century

KARACHI, Sept 22: A fine unbeaten knock of 102 by Matinur Rehman laid the foundation of Rangers CC’s easy 56-run victory over Pak Crescent in the M.M. Baig memorial cricket tournament match at the Annu Bhai Park on Sunday.

Matin, who scored two centuries in earlier matches, struck three sixes and five fours as Ranger CC made 262 for four in their 30 overs. Asif Akhtar also excelled with a knock of 70.

Pak Crescent, in reply, fell away after openers Arshad (69 with five fours and two sixes) and Naeem (37) began with a stand of 105. They reached to 206 for nine when their quota of overs exhausted.
