SHEIKHUPURA: The Sharqpur police arrested a man and his two accomplices for setting up his kidnap for a Rs500,000 ransom in Qila Sharif village.

Police said, Sharafat, of Qila Sharif, went missing from his house on Tuesday. His father received a call on his mobile from an unidentified caller who demanded a Rs500,000 ransom for his release. The family alerted the police who held two people who posing as kidnappers came to collect the ransom.

The two people revealed that Sharafat had set up his kidnapping to collect the sum from his father. Police also arrested Sharafat.

ACCIDENT: A youth (22) was killed while his father sustained injuries in a road accident on Lahore Road near Mandiali.

Ali Rehan with his father Shaukat was riding on motorcycle when a truck hit them. Ali Rehan died at the scene while his father was injured. The Factory Area police are looking into the mater.
