Raheel visits defence expo in Abu Dhabi

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif visited the Inter­national Defence Exhibition and Conference at Abu Dhabi on Sunday. He went to stalls of various countries, including China, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, at the National Exhibition Centre.

During his day-long visit, Gen Sharif held meetings with Gen Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumeithy, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, and other military officials of the UAE.

According to Inter-Servi­ces Public Relations, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence and security cooperation and collaboration, and regional security came un­­der discussion during the meetings.

The UAE leadership app­reciated Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism, especially Operation Zarb-i-Azb under way in North Waziristan, and showed keen interest to en­­hancing training exchanges with Pakistan Army.
