ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, who accompanied President General Prevez Musharraf on his visit to New York to attend the 58th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, will join Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali on his official visit to the US.

During his stay in New York the foreign minister is expected to speak at a number of ministerial meetings of OIC, G-77, NAM, Saarc-Asean meeting, OIC Committee on Palestine and OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.

He would also attend a high-level ad hoc meeting on Afghanistan and a ministerial meeting of the Security Council on Justice and Rule of Law and the Role of the UN.

He would speak at a session of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.

Mr Kasuri is expected to hold over 20 bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of China, France, Russia, Australia, Italy, Iran, Turkey, Norway, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Poland, Oman, Morocco, Tunisia, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Botswana and Eritrea.

He would exchange views with them on the latest situation regarding Iraq and the Middle East peace process and discuss with his OIC counterparts the issues that would be taken up at the OIC Summit in Kuala Lumpur in the third week of Oct 2003.—APP
