QUETTA: A Sikh trader, who was kidnapped from Dalbandin last month, was recovered in Chagai on Saturday.

One suspected kidnapper was killed in a clash with Levies personnel, while his three colleagues were arrested.

Chagai Deputy Commissioner Saifullah Khetran said Levies Force conducted a raid at a place in the Aamri area of Chagai district to recover Munish Singh.

“Armed kidnappers opened indiscriminate fire at the Levies team when it reached the area and cordoned off the house where the kidnapped trader was kept,” he said.

An exchange of fire took place in which one suspected kidnapper was killed, he said. Three alleged kidnappers were arrested. They were being interrogated at Levies Station in Dalbandin, he added.

He said the recovered trader later reached his house in Hindu Mohalla of Dalbandin.

Mr Khetran said three motorcycles, one pick-up vehicle and a satellite phone were recovered from the alleged kidnappers.
