Afghanistan disabled cricket squad arrives in Karachi

KARACHI: A 16-member Afghanistan disabled cricket squad led by Abdul Nabi arrived here on Thursday to play the first international disabled series against Pakistan beginning from Sunday at the National Stadium here.

The visiting team will play three T20 and two one-dayers during the tour.

The team was received by honorary secretary of the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association Amiruddin Ansari, joint secretary and media manager Mohammad Nizam and members of ABAD.

The captain of Afghanistan team, Abdul Nabi, said: “We will try our best to beat Pakistan disabled cricketers in the series and we know this is a safe country for sports.”

The Afghanistan team will practise today at the NSK. Sports co-ordinator of Karachi Public School Munir Ali Qadri will be the liaison officer of Afghanistan disabled cricket team.

Abdul Nabi (Captain), Hasibullah (vice-captain), Obaidullah, Khanzada, Jamil Khan, Ashraf, Jahanzaib, M. Yousuf Sangar, M. Farid Sherin, Eidullah, Ikramullah, M. Nazeef, Shafiq Samim, Fazal Rehman.

Abdul Manan Masood (head coach), Sayed Rehman (coach), Jalil khan (manager), Irfan Gardiwal (media manager).
