Farmer beheaded by rivals

SADIQABAD, Sept 19: A farmer was shot at and his head cut off by his rivals at Mauza Laran, near Zahir Pir.

Sources said Jam Aadil of Mauza Laran was busy irrigating his fields near his residence when five persons appeared on the scene and shot at him. He fell on the ground. Using an axe, the accused cut off his head and took it away.

The cause of the brutal murder was reported to be an old feud between the Lars of Mauza Laran and a Baluch tribe. A close relative of the deceased had abducted a woman of the Baluch tribe. Relatives of the woman had earlier amputated the nose of a male member of the Lar family.

The Zahir Pir police have launched a search operation to nab the accused.
