RAWALPINDI: As many as 24,000 candidates have applied for 1,886 posts of teachers in Rawalpindi district.

Their interviews will commence from February 7 and will continue for 22 days.

District Officer, Education, Qazi Zahoorul Haq told Dawn that the education department had constituted 20 committees comprising senior teachers for interviews.

Government Denny’s Higher Secondary School at Kashmir Road has been selected as venue for the interview, he said. He said the selection would be purely on merit.

Replying to a question, he said there was no role of the ruling party members in the committees formed for the interview.

He said that the Punjab government had set selection criteria which would be followed by the committees. — A Reporter   Published in Dawn February 7th , 2015
