RAWALPINDI: Hundreds of passengers faced problems at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport here on Tuesday after PIA employees observed a strike to put pressure on the government to take back a decision to impose a tax on their free tickets.

When PK-368 coming from Karachi landed at the airport at 12.40pm, the PIA’s ground staff refused to attach gangway to the plane and offload luggage of the passengers. When a private agency offered to do the job, it was also stopped by the PIA staff.

The passengers were, however, evacuated from the plane after PIA employees ended the strike.
