Notices issued to private schools

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 18: The Income Tax office, Mirpurkhas, has issued notices to dozens of private schools of the city requiring them to complete their annual assessment.

The managements of the schools are required to produce their documents so that annual assessment could be conducted within circle-A of Mirpurkhas.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: The district Nazim, Mirpurkhas, Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani, has directed officers of the education department that they should improve their performance and utilize allocated funds properly in order to provide necessary facilities in institutions, including scholarships and promotions.

He warned that stern action would be taken against those officers who failed to utilize funds on time and did not carry out the proposed programmes.

He was speaking at a meeting of officers of the education department at the Darbar Hall on Wednesday.

He said that hardworking and competent teachers would be encouraged.

He said that cells had been set up in the offices of the district Nazim and the DCO to ensure transparent distribution of Mora scholarships.

The EDO, education, Mirpurkhas, Haji Khan Rahu, said that more than Rs4.6 million had been distributed under the Sindh Education Reforms Programme to female students, studying in class 6 to 8, in the district during the fiscal year.

The EDO said that Rs5.1 million had been allocated for repairing schools and offices of the education department in the district.

SURVEY: To monitor social change, the government of Sindh with the collaboration of UNICEF would conduct a multiple indicators’ cluster survey 2002-03 in the province.
