BAHAWALNAGAR: A minor boy was found killed in fields in the jurisdiction of the Sadar police on Friday.

Later, an autopsy reported he was strangled after being sodomised.

The 10-year-old child was last seen with his herd of goats near a farm in Chak Matran.

Police registered a case against unidentified people.

FLEES: A criminal fled the Faqirwali police custody on Friday.

According to police, Naeem Bhatti, of Khichiwala, was in the lock-up on physical remand. He asked the constables to let him use washroom. A police official gave him a bunch of keys to open the washroom. The bunch had also the keys of the lockup, which Bhatti removed and returned the remaining keys to the official.

The removal of one key went unnoticed by the official. At night, Bhatti fled the lockup when policemen were asleep.

Police authorities suspended constables Zafar Iqbal and Shahbaz and arrested them in a case of negligence.
