LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday awarded imprisonment to three convicts, including a woman, in a kidnap-for-ransom case.

Shahkot City police had arrested Waheed, Sajid and Iqra in 2011 for kidnapping Waqas.

The prosecution stated before the court that the convicts had kidnapped the son of his client and demanded a Rs1.5 million ransom.

Police arrested the convicts and recovered the hostage and the ransom amount.

ATC judge Ayub Marth sentenced Waheed to 33 years and Sajid and Iqra 28-year each imprisonment. The court also confiscated the property of the convicts.
