Lifetime achievement award for Adib Rizvi

KARACHI: The Sindhi Association of North America (Sana) on Tuesday presented the ‘lifetime achievement award’ to renowned surgeon Dr Adibul Hasan Rizvi for his matchless service to humanity by establishing the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT).

A delegation of Sana, which is visiting Sindh, joined a ceremony at the Karachi Press Club in which they presented the award to the eminent medic along with a donation of $10,000.

In his address to the meeting, Dr Rizvi said the SIUT’s 10 centres — nine in Karachi and one in Sukkur — were taking care of a large number of people in Sindh and other parts of the country and majority of them could not afford the cost on transplantation, dialyses and other treatment.

He said the SIUT would continue to serve the humanity irrespective of caste, creed and faith.

Aijaz Turk of the Sana praised Dr Rizvi’s contribution in health sector.

Dr Adib Rizvi is one of the rarest individuals in medical profession in Pakistan who demonstrated such care and passion for the people. He is our real hero side by side by Sattar Edhi Salute to these great Pakistanis!

Respected Dr. Rizvi Saheb: thank you for everything, you did and still are doing for the patients in Pakistan. I know: your clinic helps everybody, rich or poor. Your Clinic finances all expenses for poor patients: preoperative screening and diagnosis, operation, and postoperative tests and medical care. SUIT has achieved and maintained a high professional and technical standard. Thank you sir to you and your staff members in Karachi and Sukkhar. I pray for your health and for a long life.

I propose Dr. Adib Rizvi not only Pakistan but he should be reccomended from respective quarters for the Nobel Instiute, Oslo for an Award for selfless services which are beyond comprehension even to any other accreditation. The nominations are for global entries, and the entry for nomination be from the honorable Sattar Edhi to the great Dr. Adib Rizvi. Heartiest Blessings

A lifetime of serving humanity is what Dr. Adib Rizvi is. The whole nation should be proud of you, Sir. You are a gem. If only our politicians and judiciary etc. would learn and take a lesson from you, Pakistan could be a great country. You are serving the country selflessly. May Allah bless you and make others learn from your passion to work and serve the humanity. Ameen. Those going into the medical profession should go into it with the major aim of serving the people, the less fortunate of us. It is a very noble profession and noble it is for a reason. It is not noble because it affords one prestige, it is noble because it is deemed to serve the people. Serving the human kind is the best service one can offer.

very nice step of SANA and slute to Dr.Adib Sahib,i want to give suggestion to honourable dr through this comments,there is in Larkana city we have urgent need od SUIT,because there is Shaheed Banazir Medical University and Dr.s are not able and honest to serve patients,Larkana is fulfill with health and political,social crime and common men and patients are being faced to troubles.
