LAHORE: The senior superintendent of police (Investigation) on Monday suspended from service two police officers, including in-charge investigation, for implicating a man in a false case on Monday.

According to a handout, SSP Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem ordered the suspension of Old Anarkali Police Station In-charge Investigation Arshad Kahloon and Investigation Officer ASI Muhammad Tariq. Both the officials were found guilty of arresting one Shahzad and implicating him in a five-year-old case and making bogus recovery.

Shahzad’s mother had submitted an application before the SSP, alleging that police had arrested her son in a false case and sent him to jail by making bogus recovery.

The SSP ordered SP Umar Riaz Cheema to hold an inquiry into the matter which proved the allegations against the police officers.
