Punjab make clean sweep

LAHORE,  Sept 17: Punjab made a clean sweep of Inter-provincial Under-16 boys and girls table tennis championship at Islamabad, a Punjab Sports Board spokesman said on Wednesday.

Islamabad and NWFP came in second and third.

Final results: Boys: Punjab beat Islamabad 3-0. Hasan bt Adeel 11-8, 14-12, 11-9; Awais bt Omar 11-3, 11-6, 11-5; Asama bt Omer Butt 11-9, 11-6, 13-6.

Girls. Punjab beat Islamabad 3-0: Shazia  Bib bt Shamaila 11-2, 11-4, 11-6; Sidra bt  Rabia  12-10, 11-7,  11-8, 9-11, 11-9; Yasmin Hanif bt Sana 11-6,  11-9,  7-11, 10-12, 11-9.

Individual finals. Awais Hussain (Punjab) bt Hasan (Punjab) 6-11, 19-17, 10-12,  11- 6, 12-10.

Girls: Sidra (Punjab) bt Sana (Islamabad) 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 11-2.
