DUBAI, Sept 17: Prominent Dubai businessman and cricket lover Shyam Bhatia will launch his book - Portraits of the Game - in Karachi on Sept 23 as part of his innovative road show to raise funds for charities devoted to cause of cricket in Pakistan and India.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Tauqir Zia will be chief guest at the launch which, according to Bhatia, will be attended by virtually the who’s who of Pakistan cricket.

“I am delighted with response to the book I have received from various quarters,” he said. The book was first launched during the 2003 World Cup in South Africa.

Bhatia raised $10,000 through launch of the book at Lord’s in England recently and promised another $10,000 in his trip to Karachi. “Habib Bank AG Zurich has agreed to buy my books.

“Since South African team will also be in Pakistan, I will try and seize opportunity to present book to them as well along with Pakistan team,” he said.

He plans to travel to Bangladesh, Australia and West Indies in March next to launch his book and raise funds. —PPI
