Councillor shot dead

SWABI, Dec 21: A councillor of Punjpir was shot dead when he was on his way home in his car the other day.

Councillor Arifullah, a resident of the Khuroo village, had exchanged hot words with Ravad Khan and Liaqat Khan of the Kala village while returning home. Ravad and Liaqat allegedly fired on the councillor killing him on the spot, and fled. Relatives of the deceased said he had no enmity towards any one.

But, father of Liaqat told the police that his son was involved in the killing. The police registered an FIR against the accused and arrested Liaqat. Raids are under way to nab Ravad Khan.
