SHEIKHUPURA: Scores of students set a bus on fire at Phularwan Chowk after one of their teachers was crushed under it on Monday.

Students and teachers were boarding a bus after school. When teacher Aslam was getting onto it, he slipped and was crushed under the wheels.

Students set the bus alight and after thrashing the driver and his helper handed them over to the Safdarabad police. Further investigation is under way.

SUICIDE: A man allegedly committed suicide in Daoke village near Muridke due to financial problems.

The deceased was a labourer and did not have a permanent job which made it difficult for him to bear expenses of his five-member family.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed while four others injured in a head-on collision between two motorbikes on GT Road near Muridke on Monday.

Naveed and his two colleagues were travelling on a motorcycle.

Two other men on a bike appeared from the opposite direction on the one-way road and hit them.

Naveed died on the spot while the remaining suffered injuries with one in a serious condition. They were shifted to Mayo hospital in Lahore.

Police started an investigation.
