Sindh Beach Games set for next month: SOA

KARACHI: The Sindh Beach Games will be organised in Karachi next month, Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) president Usama Qadri announced at the General Council meeting here on Sunday.

The SOA chief also announced that a budget of Rs1million has been allocated for the organisation of the Games while another one million will be raised through sponsorships.

The house unanimously approved the sports activities report for 2013-2014, audited accounts, next year’s budget, minutes of last General Council meeting and the appointment of auditor at the SOA moot.

The house offered the fateha for late SOA senior vice-president Abdul Razak Arain and appreciated his services for sports.

Usama also announced a Sports Award in the name of Razak Arain and said the trophy for the Sindh Beach Games will be dedicated to him as well.

Usama also asked the sports department of the provincial government to provide the necessary funds for the organisation of 17th Sindh Games as it was already approved in the overall budget of the province.
