Sanchez captures 2nd career crown

BUCHAREST, Sept 15: Spain’s David Sanchez won his second career title with a 6-2 6-2 win over second seed Nicolas Massu of Chile in the rain-delayed final of the Romanian Open on Monday.

A semifinalist last year, Sanchez’s powerful serves, and good all-round play put paid to the 23-year-old Chilean’s hopes of victory.

9TH TITLE FOR SCHALKEN

SALVADOR DE BAHIA (Brazil): Dutch second seed Sjeng Schalken claimed his second title of the year and the ninth of his career when he defeated top seed Rainer Schuettler 6-2, 6-4 in the final of the US$ 380,000 Brasil Open on Sunday.
