Ulema urged to help fight diseases

PESHAWAR, Sept 15: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah has appealed to religious scholars to help in ensuring a healthy society by educating people to adopt preventive steps to avoid deadly diseases.

Speaking at the Dastar Bandi ceremony of Huffaz-i-Quran at Sharingal Jamia Masjid, Dir, he said the provincial government was committed to protecting Islamic values.

He asked Ulema to accelerate their efforts for reformation of the society and strengthen unity among the people.

During his visit to basic health unites at Sharingal and Sawni, the minister took exception to complaints about absence of doctors and ordered an inquiry in this regard. He ordered submission of a report for the establishment of an Extended Programme on Immunization centre and provision of water to the BHUs.—APP
