KARACHI: Mairaj Ali and Babar Malik made telling contributions as Rangers CC sealed an impressive six-wicket victory over Bob Woolmer CC in the KCCA President Cup match at the Asifabad Sports Ground here on Thursday.

Off-spinner Mairaj snared four wickets for 38 runs to play key role in bowling out Bob Woolmer CC for 218 in 44.1 overs. Umair Wahid, however, excelled by scoring a splendid 95 that included 11 boundaries.

Rangers CC, in reply, achieved victory midway through the 34th over of the chase in the 45-over fixture. Babar starred by hitting 73 with the aid of 11 fours and one six.

Shoaib Ahmed struck 51 with six hits to the fence, while all-rounder Imran Ahmed followed up his bowling stint of 2-31 with a robust knock of 48 featuring seven fours.

Fayyaz Ahmed slammed an undefeated 85 (12 boundaries) to power Pakistan Stallions to a seven-wicket win against Modern Gymkhana at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.

Chasing 190, Pakistan Stallions romped at the start of the 35th over.

Earlier, Zakir Khan (40, four boundaries) and Sajid Ali (37) were the chief scorers for Modern Gymkhana who were all out for 189 in 41.1 overs. Asher Qureshi captured three wickets for 39 runs.
