President lauds efforts of Asian Society

ISLAMABAD, Sept 12: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has lauded the work done by Asian Society to improve the understanding about the Asian people in the United States.

He was talking to the Ambassador Nicholas Platt, the president of the Asia Society, who called on the President here on Friday. He informed President Gen Musharraf about the projects undertaken by the Society to promote awareness in US about the Asian countries particularly Pakistan.

The President said he considered the Asia Society a valuable partner in Pakistan’s policy to diversify and strengthen ties with the United States.

The Asia Society launched its Pakistan Country Fund to promote understanding of Pakistan’s culture and politics by expanding channels of communication, especially between the civil societies of the two countries.—PPI
