PESHAWAR, Sept 11: The NWFP government has decided to table the draft Hisba Act in the form of a bill before the provincial assembly in its forthcoming session, even if the provincial governor does not approve it.

NWFP Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Zafar Azam told Dawn that a copy of the draft Hisba Act was forwarded to the governor on Thursday for his consent.

This is for the second time that the draft act has been submitted to the governor by the provincial government.

Earlier, the governor had returned the draft after expressing some reservations about certain clauses of the proposed act.

“We have sent a copy of the draft act again with a hope that the governor would accord it approval, otherwise we will be left with no option but to table it before the provincial assembly directly,” the law minister said.
