Lahore, Karachi ‘twin-cities’

LAHORE, Sept 9: Lahore and Karachi were declared “ideological twin-cities” on Tuesday for the promotion of Pakistan Ideology.

The declaration was signed by Lahore City District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmud and Karachi City District Nazim Naimatullah Khan at a reception hosted by the former in honour of the latter here. A golden replica of the Minar-i-Pakistan was also presented to the visiting Nazim.

The Nazims said prominent educational institutions in the two cities could also be linked likewise. The Lahore City District Government would provide a list of its 1,500 educational institutions to the Karachi City District Government which would in turn provide the former with a list of its 4,000 educational institutions.

The two Nazims agreed to utilize all the resources at their disposal for promotion of Pakistan Ideology. They also agreed to take appropriate steps for exchange of delegations of teachers and students between the two cities.
