MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Jahangir Khan Tareen says Imran Khan has the authority to nominate anybody for any slot in the party and he (Tareen) is the legitimate general secretary of the PTI.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said: “Pervez Khatak was my predecessor and when he assumed the office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, the party’s central executive committee authorised Imran Khan to nominate any person for any important slot.”
Tareen said he would file a defamation suit against Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid if he (Rashid) did not apologise to him for allegations regarding the jet under Imran Khan’s use.
He said 70 per cent of the expenses of the jet were being paid by him and his other family members. He said since September 30, 2013, Rs57.8 million were spent on jet out of which he and his family paid Rs40.8 million.
“All the expenses of the jet are available in documents and the defamation notice to Mr Rashid will be served when my company’s lawyer will come back from a foreign tour,” he said.
Tareen said he had the audit report of the company and as per the company’s bylaws he was entitled to use the jet by paying the expenses.
He said Mr Rashid should also disclose how the Sharifs used to travel on planes when they were not in power.
He said he did not initiate any business in KP after the PTI was voted to power in the province. “I had launched a business project in KP in 2008 and that contract will end in 2020.”
He said the government had failed to solve the issues of farming community and “farmers are suffering as cotton and rice are not attracting buyers.”
He said the government could not stop PTI’s public gathering on Nov 30 in Islamabad.
“The government will be responsible for the situation if it tried to arrest the workers or stop them from entering Islamabad,” he said.
The PTI leader said Imran would decide on Nov 30 either the activity would be limited to a public gathering or it would be a sit-in.

Code of ethics should be strictly enforced in PTI...as a matter of principle...major party fund contributors and their families should not be political beneficiaries in the party and they should not get any leadership slot within the party or in the government...

JK Tareen, Please file defamation case as early as today and leave your foot prints so that your leader could follow these and accept to appear before judiciary and submit proofs of rigging instead of crying here and there.
Please act urgently otherwise it will be considered that whole party comprises of BIGOTS!!!

A dirty politics game in which every one blaming. why MR Tareen bear expanses of MR imran traveling. he is the first perosn who spent money on political leader with out any intrest why??????? these business giants spent money in politics to take benefits for their businesses????????? after that every thing is investment and in reutrn more than they imagine with big intrest and profit margins

Jahangeer Tareen is eyed with envy in the business community, for his management skills and use of technology in agriculture. He is a success story in business and is a role model for budding entrepreneurs. I find it surprising that to attack Imran Khan, misinformed people keep labeling JT as a part of status-quo. Nothing could be further from truth.

Use of corporate jet for political purposes even if 70% cost is paid by Mr. Tareen or his family is called misuse of resource and authority (may be illegal as well) as corporate shareholders own the company even if they are less or more in number.

@Noora I agree. I've personally known some members of the Tareen family, since the 80s, and familiar with their business enterprises. The man is noting but upstanding gentleman and much more credible politician than the present administration and their predecessors.

57.million just for the transport of a few PTI VIP. That is defiantly not a small amount and so many poor or displaced people could have benefited from such an amount. I am glad this too is coming to light as it is important to know that much of the talk from the container is to point at others but it is less effective when one knows they do the same things all along. It is all about getting to power to benefit their own businesses at the end of the day. No one invest's that kind of amount just for fun or for the love of IK. They to have their vested interest on but keep fooling the masses that it is about them.

He stole the sugar mill business from his family, does his level best to avoid taxes, and unless you pay 100% i don't think you can pay 70% of anything and say it belongs to you. Your comment couldn't be farther from the truth. Imran and company are after the sharifs from operating sugar mills they operated since the 1930's while JT can hold a position and open up a new one and invest money in power while members of the sharif family which aren't even in politics can't expand their business and get wild allegations thrown at them. But then again PTI is filled with hypocrites and u-turns. Another so called "great entrepreneur" in PTI asad Umer with his engro and fauji fertilizer scandal which made the poor suffer. But now they have finally grown a conscience and want to help the poor by creating economic instability devaluing the currency and throw insults and wild allegations lacking proof, because if they had any they would be in court not on top of containers. PTIs old core members are accusing Imran because they don't even understand where he is getting his funding from, and let's not forget the rigging PTI did in PS93. They scream justice but are the same evil they claim to be fighting. I'll stick with the devil I know.

He is really a rich guy, but at least he is not other who stole taxes. He pay taxes and have complete records. No like NS and SS brother and sisters running numerous business inside and mostly outside Pakistan. Tahreen giving jobs to thousands inside Pakistan. Not like NS to just increase its own business. All leaders travel and if you guys are mature enough then these million is just a normal value for leaders trip and they are paying not like our politician to pay it by people of Pakistan money (Taxes). If someone admit that he is paying his own expenses then still you guys not happy .......

Until then, save your comments for those politicians who have stolen PUBLIC MONEY, the money of people of Pakistan, through lies and deciet.
Pls comment on the money that belongs to people of Pakistan, not the money of some share holders in Tareen's company. Those shareholders know how to gaurd their interests.
