Seven killed in road accident

SIALKOT, Sept 9: Seven people, including two women, were killed and nine others injured in a road accident on the main Daska-Gujranwala Road near Glotian, Daska tehsil, on Tuesday afternoon.

A wagon was on its way to Daska when a speeding truck coming from the opposite side collided with it. Seven van passengers, including two women and a minor girl, died on the spot while nine others sustained injuries.

Following the collision the van caught fire as a result of which four of the dead could not be recognized. Those identified are Sikandar Masih, Jamil and Amtal Hafeez.

The injured identified as Iqbal Sahi, Ashraf, Raja Aslam, Usman Habib, Saeeda, Ashfaq, Imran Mansha, Abdul Jabbar and Haji Sheraz were taken to hospital from where Ashraf and Fiaz were referred to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore.
