LAHORE: A Lahore High Court full bench on Friday issued notices to the federal government, provincial government and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for November 24 on an application to stop PTI from holding a sit-in on November 30.

The full bench comprising Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan, Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Anwaarul Haq was hearing the civil miscellaneous application filed by M.H Mujahid in a pending matter against the PTI 'Azadi' march and sit-in.

Earlier, the petitioner's counsel arguing before the court, submitted that Imran Khan did not act in accordance with the law, having allegedly threatened that after November 30 his sit-in would not remain peaceful nor would the government be able to function.

He pleaded with the court to stop the PTI leader from holding the sit-in as it was allegedly aimed at overthrowing the government.

At this, Justice Khalid observed that the bench had issued orders to stop the march but the government did not comply with it.

"If the government and other party's do not have any objection on holding a peaceful sit-in, then why has the petitioner raised objection," he added.

However, the petitioner's counsel replied that the court should decide the matter as per constitution. He further said that the sit-in was not a problem but unconstitutional steps following it were.

The bench accepted the application for hearing and issued notices to the federal government, provincial government and Imran Khan for November 24.
