QUETTA: Two people, including a security man, were injured Friday in a blast that targeted a forces' vehicle on Quetta's Sariab road area, police said.

Imran Qureshi, a senior police officer, told Dawn that militants had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a cycle, which was parked on the roadside.

The injured persons were rushed to a hospital after the blast which also damaged the security forces' vehicle.

The intensity of the explosion also smashed the glasses of nearby homes and shops in the vicinity.

Police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel reached the spot and an investigation into the incident went under way.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

This incident took place a day after militants targeted Bugti Express train in Balochistan's Dasht area which left 12 people injured.
