SWABI, Sept 8: A committee has been formed to settle disputes among the local government representatives of the district.

A meeting, held here on Monday at the office of the superintendent of police, decided to constitute a committee to amicably settle the disputes among the local council members and not to table no-confidence motions against the district Nazim, tehsil and union Nazims.

The meeting was attended by MNAs, MPAs and a large number of tehsil and union Nazims of the district.

The meeting also asked the Nazims to refer their disputes to the committee for early solution.

Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA Maulana Khalil Ahmad and former JI general secretary Saeed Zada were appointed as president and general secretary of the committee, respectively, while the District Naib Nazim Mohammad Jamil, Swabi Independent Group chief Muqarab Khan, Fayaz Ali, Abdul Naeem and Liaqat Bahadur were made the members.

The meeting observed that no-confidence motions brought against a number of Naib Nazims during the last two months had polluted the political environment of the district and their strained relations blocked the development activities.
