KARACHI, Sept 8: Justice Mohammad Mujeebullah Siddiqui of the Sindh High Court issued on Monday warrants to the DSP of Korangi police station for Sept 23 on a contempt plea filed by the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) against police officials on violating the SHC’s order about Baitul Hamza, the MQM-H headquarters.

SHO Nadir Khan of the Landhi police station and TPO Latif Abbasi of Landhi Town, also named as contemnors, appeared before the court and filed written comments.

The SHO stated that neither he was party to the suit nor was served with any notice from the state counsel.

He said he came to know through the present plea that stay order was passed by the SHC in suit property.

He submitted that he had received information that women activists of the MQM-H were planning to hold a Mehfil-i-Milad there and police were deployed to protect them. On the other hand, he stated, the plaintiff to harass police officials filed a contempt plea. The TPO also submitted that he did not disobey the court orders. — PPI
