SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has again warned the Pakistan Muslim League-N that if a judicial commission to investigate allegations of rigging in the last general elections is not formed by Nov 30 his party will make it difficult for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to run the government.

Addressing on Wednesday a public meeting at the Government Guru Nanak High School ground in Nankana Sahib, about 40km from here, Mr Khan asked his supporters to reach Islamabad in large numbers on Nov 30 “in order to create a new Pakistan”.

He said the government had agreed to five of the six demands he had raised at the start of his protest campaign against rigging, but now it was backtracking on a demand which had already been accepted.

“I have evidence that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had agreed to form the judicial commission. According to Article 190, officials from any agency can be a part of the investigation,” the PTI chairman remarked.

He said the government was raising power tariff frequently to repay the loans it had obtained from the International Monetary Fund.

He said the movement launched by PTI had unnerved Mr Sharif, as the premier had discussed the sit-ins even during his visits to China and Germany.

Mr Khan said the PPP and PML-N had been in power for the last several years but did not provide any relief to the common man.

He also thanked women and youths for participating in large numbers in all PTI gatherings.

In his speech, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the government was doing nothing to promote the agriculture sector and farmers were suffering due to wrong policies of the incompetent rulers. If the people voted PTI into power, providing maximum relief to the farmers would be its top priority, he added.

In his emotional and fiery speech, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid appealed to the people of Nankana Sahib to reach Islamabad in large numbers on the last day of the month “so that we may send Nawaz out of Islamabad”.
