SHEIKHUPURA: A joint team of Saddar police and the livestock personnel caught red-handed two butchers while transporting 80kg donkey meat to Lahore near Chah Bhangwan on Sunday.
The joint raiding team intercepted a pick-up, seized donkey meat and arrested butchers Sattar and Ali Nawaz. During an initial interrogation, the arrested butchers confessed that they had been supplying the donkey meat to Lahore for the last several months.
Further investigation is underway.
THREE KILLED: Three family members, including a four-year-old boy, were killed and two others sustained injuries in an accident on Ferozewattwan-Warburton Road on Sunday.
Reports said that five family members, on two motorcycles, were on their way when they were hit by a truck near Kot Nazra. Consequently, Nasir Ali, his son Ali Hamza and brother Mushtaq died on the spot while Ramzan and other a seven-year-old boy suffered serious injuries. The driver managed to escape with the vehicle.
Warburton police have started investigation.
DEPRIVED: A trader was deprived of his car and Rs30,000 cash by three robbers on Sharqpur Road near Nazir Lubana on Sunday.
Reports said that Sajid was going to Sharqpur when armed men intercepted him and took away his vehicle and cash.
Police are looking into the matter.
