PESHAWAR, Sept 6: Additional District and Sessions Judge Shehbar Khan on Saturday awarded life term to two brothers for killing their cousin and fined them Rs50,000 each.

The judge observed that the prosecution had proved its case against two accused Riaz and Masood, sons of Dalasa Khan of Mashogagar, Peshawar.

They were tried for killing Sheraz Khan over a property dispute on April 7, 1999. The FIR against the brothers was registered on the basis of a statement which the victim had given before dying.

Meanwhile, the same court convicted another person for killing his cousin and sentenced him to life imprisonment with Rs1,00,000 fine.

The court also sentenced accused Rab Nawaz to 10-year imprisonment for injuring his aunt, mother of victim Razia.

Rab Nawaz had a domestic dispute with his aunt Taj Bibi and her daughter. On Nov 5, 1998, he entered their house and fired at them, killing Razia on the spot and injuring the aunt.
