Let people taste the sweetness of voting for current ruling party. I wonder when Pakistani's will become and behave like a nation and show the power of their vote to run over such VIPs of Pakistan

What a shame. Why president of bankrupt country has to fly on a special plane. Why can't he take an ordinary flight? Isn't this the same man who dared to take dozens of his relatives & friends to haj at government's expense? When will this VIP culture end in Pakistan?

I remember that President George W. Bush visited my daughters school in January 2002 to sign the bill for NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. I don't recall that any traffic was blocked or stopped for any of the VIP or any other official although there were quite a few dignitaries present at the school including the Governor of Ohio. I don't know how and when this VIP culture will come to an end and when we will stop wasting our time on these useless unwanted practices ? Why do we forget that TIME IS PRECIOUS and we owe to GOD for every second and every breath and WE and only WE are responsible for our acts.

People are in no mood to accept this type of behavior from public servants or representatives but the rulers donot get it. The president and the PM must shun such VVIP behavior and get with the program otherwise be ready to face the public ire

President can not take off from Karachi airbase? C-130 needs to land at Jinnah Terminal? President can't be transported to airbase . instead need to come Jinnah terminal? Hard to believe ?

What a shameful behaviour of our rulers!!! Above all why the President has to travel by special C-130 flights? As reported in a section of the press, he alongwith his family also recently traveled from Islamabad to Bahawalpur for a private function by a special C-130 flight. Another C-130 flight transported a bullet proof car for the President from Islamabad to Bahawalpur. What a joke with this poor nation!! As per our constitution, this guy is only a ceremonial Head of State - a signing machine, not clear what for.

Mamoon Hussain who tells people that he is president of Pakistan? He can walk on the streets unnoticed as none in Pakistan knows him.

May be it is the functionaries going overboard to please their masters. If so, the president now has an opportunity to (a) apologize to the public for inconvenience caused and (b) use the airbase in the future.

When Namaloom Hussain goes for Hajj he normally takes 19 to 22 family and friends with him. Plus 11 staff. When his cousins, or other relatives come to visit him, they all stay at the official Presidential Guest House. Which is only for visiting Foreign Dignitaries, not for relatives and cousins of the President.

Why can't he take a normal flight like a normal person?

Mamnoon Hussain is president of Pakistan? I think that meant he is the top corruption lists in Pakistan. I hope IK kick him out of the plane! No wonder, the U.S president did not invite him to the white house.. even that applies to most countries

All this for a person who has been strictly told to not to give any statements on media or social whatsoever unless and until the directives come from the PM. Also told to enjoy the President House as a hotel as a reward for visiting the PM whilst he was in prison, furthermore this guy spends 4 hours on average daily playing with bubbles in the Presidential Jacuzzi watching TV. Guess what, you either voted for these clowns or you allowed them to get away with rigging hence enjoy the circus, at least I can say that I didn't vote for this mafia and will never vote for them either.

We are not learning our lessons. Mr Mamnoon Hussain is a humble man but has become the topic of ridicule twice within a week due to C 130 VIP flights, earlier at the Bahawalpur airport and now at Karachi. Someone is not guiding him correctly or he needs to be better tuned up about his own reputation.

It reminds me of my travels in the Pacific in 1986. I was traveling by Nauru Air and had to touch Nauru, a small island of 4500 people, to go to Fiji. I was told by my friends to keep in mind that if the President of Nauru decided to go with his family to Australia on a shopping trip, the passengers would be abandoned at the airport till the next flight. Nauru Air had only 3 planes. In the comments I noted two terms "VIP Culture" and "Rulers". All Rulers are VIPs and all Badshahs are Rulers. The Colonial Rulers/Badshahs/VIPs have been replaced by the Desi models. What freedom, what Democracy?

Guys what are you doing...if you turn them off from flying PIA...than they would resort to buying private jets and helicopters for themselves and their families...and that too with our tax money...please weigh your options... :)

Wow! An unknown entity till yesterday suddenly becomes a VVIP and prevents 300 people from going about their daily lives. I thought the President was a sensible man. I was grossly wrong.

Here is to our MBA president. His VVIP flight delaying 300 passengers for say 3 hours means : 300 passengers+ 20 crew members (appx)+ say 50 ground staff time = 370 X 3 hours = 1110 hours of man-working-hours lost (considering 8 hour working day= 139 working days lost). If an average salary of these passengers is Rs50,000 per month. Then the loss to the nation because of this VVIP disruption was roughly 4.5 months . Translated in to money it is 50,000 x 4.5= Rs 225,000. Obviously the actual cost is many times more if you consider the knock-down effects, aircraft parking fee etc. Translate that in terms of average tax of Rs 5000 paid by the super elite it would take 45 years (225000 divided by average annual tax of Rs5000) for the state of Pakistan to recover this loss.

Why people are complaining? This is third time that Sharif is Prime Minister. People knew his antics and yet again voted for him. What is happening now, will all be forgotten history and in few years people will vote again for another Zardari or another Sharif and another cycle of complains, protests and agitations will start.

President was going to Islamabad and there was a PIA plane at the airport but a C130 was ordered to take the President?. Why couldn't he fly in a PIA plane?. Surely, a C130 is not more comfortable than a commercial plane?. This is the very culture that has destroyed Pakistan.

I have witness this man's movement when he was Governor Sindh, same style, it was some evening time when his convoy was moving to air port. This is democracy for which all media is "struggling" & all "POLITICAL" parties are fighting.

Why want to call a VIP? ?...I mean seriously. ...what is his role in pak. ..and what has he ever done during his term....and what is he capable of doing...

My dad was stuck over there too. His flight was at 7:00 in the evening but was delayed to 10:30 at night.

People of Pakistan should 'read up' on how during the 1960's General Ayub's and then ZA Bhutto's government during the mid 70's was dismissed by the Pakistan's student movement. This is what is required again to rid the current lot!

I'm against V.I.P movements because it's wrong however; it's the president of Pakistan regardless if he is useful or not. He is the president therefore no compromise should be made in his security because Pakistan is not safe at the moment. If president is killed, how do we look in the world.

These so-called 'leaders' could take some cues from British politicians, where most of the Pakistani political elite has spend much of their time in exile or otherwise... You will never see traffic jams or flight delays in the U.K. when the British Prime Minister or even member of the Royal Family is moving about. I recall when Gordon Brown ended his term of office after the last elections, he stepped out of 10 Downing Street, holding hands with his young son and wife, got into a plain unassuming car, (with a driver of course) which turned into White Hall, and soon got stuck at the traffic light. No blaring sirens, no long conveys, no policeman blocking traffic to let his car go through, no escort of any kind.... Not even Cameron has been seen with more than one security can escorting him during his travels around the country. Only in Pakistan, a so-called leader (semi-literate munchi at best) will have a long convey of cars, blocking traffic in every major city or town, delaying flights for average fare paying Pakistani, making them sit and sweat while he takes his leisurely rides around the country.... How can the country make progress, when these selfish leaders are in charge?

How stupid is that. Why was his plane parked at the airport terminal and nit the PIA aircraft. Who ever w as in charge who did this should be fired. When will the VIPs learn and when Will they get off their high horses. Every passenger who had to wait has to be compensated. This is a shame peoples time dies not matter to the So called VIPs.

The ground operations were halted and a C130 plane was called in to carry Mamoon Rashid. It almost sounds like the threat was Mamoon Rashid himself since he was too dangerous to be traveling with the rest of the passengers in the PIA plane.

I wish the government builds separate airports for VIPs. At least they wont have to share the same place with filthy awaam.

Yep in was there at the airport for a flight to Lhr through airblue, people were chanting go nawaz go and some of them even used harsh words... All got out of control when the pia staff announced the truth that due to a vvip movement the flight got delayed. Btw my flight was on time.

Begs the fricking question, why President (who?) couldn't take the normal PK 308 to Islamabad. That would have saved over 300 passengers a lot of misery and the country a lot of money.

What a stupid way to provide security ,if the president was travelling by a PAF c-130 then it should have been flown from the PAF airport and not from a civil airport .It shows that people in charge are not only arrogant but also foolish.Also why they only cause trouble to PIA but not to foreign airlines such as Emirates (are they under some sort of unknown obligation to foreign airlines or simply overawed by their wealth).No one should be allowed to disrupt the flight schedule with excuse of security

No airplane is allowed in airspace above him. He flies in Air Force One, but his limo is airlifted in a C-17 along with other vehicles for his use. And then there is an entourage of secret service, doctors, ambulances that travel with him. Yes some of them you see but there is lot more that you don't see. Traffic all around him come to stand still. But remember that we are talking about president of a super power that shakes the world. On the other hand, Pakistan is a poor country and can't afford all that. Why whole airport has to stop for this useless man, who is not even an elected representative of people.
