Arif, Rashid-Imran pair triumph at ranking tennis

KARACHI: Arif Iftikhar overcame a stiff challenge from Asad Ali Bhagat to win the 35-plus singles final here while veteran Rashid Malik and Imran Siddiqui displayed outstanding tennis to outshine Israr Gul and Inamullah duo in the 45-plus doubles final 6-4, 6-4 at the 20th PSO Pakistan ITF Seniors World Ranking Tennis Championship at Karachi Gymkhana on Friday.

In the 55-plus doubles category, Col Dar and Iltifat pair play superbly to beat Ari Anis and M Yunus 6-2, 6-2.

Results:

35-plus singles final: Arif Iftikhar bt. Asad Ali Bhagat 7-5, 3-6, 6-3

45-plus doubles final: Rashid Malik & Imran Ahmed Siddiqui bt. Israr Gul (KPK) & Inamullah (PAF) 6-4, 6-4.

55 doubles round robin: Col Dar & Iltifat bt. Arif Anis & M. Yunus 6-2, 6-3

Junior Sindh Ranking event:

Under 13 semifinal: Amin Shafi bt. Rayyan Jawad 6-2, 6-3

Under 11 final: Farzan Ahmed bt. Ibrahim Khan 8-2.
