ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will attend a live fund-raising show to be held at the Convention Centre on Sunday, September 14.

An official source involved in the arrangements told Dawn that the fund-raising programme, which will be telecast live on PTV networks, has been sponsored by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD).

The proceeds of this telethon will go to Pakistan Human Development Fund and will be utilised for poverty alleviation in the country, especially in health and education sector programmes of the NCHD.

Government functionaries, businessmen, eminent personalities and the NCHD volunteers will attend the show.

Live in-call facility would be extended to viewers in USA, Canada, Europe, UK and Pakistan. The entertainment-packed transmission will feature live performances by a number of leading artistes and documentaries.

Princess Sarwat of Jordan, Imran Khan, his wife Jamima Khan, Mr and Mrs Abdul Sattar Edhi, squash legend Jahangir Khan, film stars Nadeem, Mohammad Ali, Zeba, Zeba Bakhtiar, cricket star Wasim Akram, Samina and Usman Peerzada are expected to participate in the show.

Umar Sharif, Ismail Tara and Bushra Ansari will conduct the show, while the singers include Ibrarul Haq, Jawad Ahmad, Shehzad Roy, Junoon, Tina Sani, Haroon, Rahim Shah, Zil-e-Huma, Nayyara Noor and Mohammad Ali Shehki.
