KARACHI, Sept 6: Body of a man, riddled with bullet holes, was found at Sakhi Hasan graveyard on Saturday.

Police said the body of a man in his early 20s was found in the graveyard. It carried bullet and torture marks.

Sir Syed Town police believed the man was subjected to torture before he had been shot dead.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy. Later the body was kept at Edhi morgue for identification.

RAPED: A six-year-old girl was raped in Saudabad and found lying unconscious in the bushes.

Police said the girl was shifted to a hospital where she was provided with treatment.

The victim identified the alleged rapist as Saleem, who was arrested by the police and booked in FIR 90/2003. The police has started interrogating him.

The accused told the police that he had lured the girl from near her house and took her to the bushes alongside the railway line in Saudabad. He raped her there and escaped after she fell unconscious.

ACCIDENT: A taxi driver died when his vehicle collided with a school-van on Jehangir Road.

Police said a taxi (JM-3349) collided with a school van (CL-9887), resulting in death of Mohammad Rafiq, 36. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy.

The police impounded the school van but its driver managed to escape from the spot. The police started conducting raids to arrest the errant driver.

ARREST: Police arrested an alleged robber after a shootout in Eidgah police limits.

The police said two alleged robbers were intercepted by the police, who signalled them to stop. Instead, they fired at the police, which were returned.

As a result, one of the alleged robbers, later identified as Ayaz, was hit by a bullet and arrested. His accomplice, however, fled.
