BAHAWALNAGAR: A farmer committed suicide in Chishtian on Tuesday allegedly after suffering losses in sale of cotton yield.

According to police, Abdul Ghafoor of Chak 41-F, Cheezalabad, had got agricultural inputs on credit for his cotton crop. But, due to various factors he could not meet the expenses incurred on cultivation.

Police said that in a fit of depression the farmer committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
